Meet the Choreographers
AJ Garcia-Rameau
AJ’s mantra is “make sh*t happen.” She’s always the chick at the bar asking for a whiskey neat. Community with others is her most cherished treasure. Rock & Roll and Metal are important influences in both AJ’s musical and social tastes. Over the years, she has garnered much joy from sharing with others the music of TOOL, Pantera, Metallica, and countless other greats (especially with her younger siblings, whom she forced to listen along, as she drove them to school).
AJ enjoys expressing her rebellious spirit both in the dance classroom as well as in the corporate conference room. A classically trained dancer, she continues to test the boundaries that enclose the thoughtfully designed ballet & modern dance pedagogies she’s studied and continues to deeply honor. AJ earned a fancy engineering degree, and she enjoys putting it to good use in her commitment to experimentation and innovation—pushing herself to think outside the box, try new stuff, and take risks.
ALLUVIUS is going to be a wild ride. See AJ’s work combine with that of the local creative, and dear friend of hers, Ty Graynor.

Ty Graynor
Ty first discovered music from a subwoofer pushed up against the back of the passenger seat in his dad’s Mitsubishi. The vibrations of the Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine were practically infused into his spinal cord—regenerating his soul from childhood.
Ty’s obsession with music only deepened when he picked up the plastic guitar for Guitar Hero (spoiler: it didn’t help). From a young age, Ty was drawn more to the Legends of Rock than any pop star; rock and roll, metal, and dance have always hummed in the back of his mind as a rebellious curiosity.
Now it’s time. Ty is thrilled to collaborate with fellow rock-and-roll soul AJ Garcia-Rameau to cook up an electrifying story that fuses the raw power of metal with the precision and form of classical and contemporary dance. Get ready – this one’s going to hit hard.

About the Project 🤘🏽
It was a Tuesday. ALLUVIUS first came to life in Summer 2024 when AJ & Ty were sharing some whiskey in the dance studio lobby after class and listening to TOOL. The thing that connected us to the music was—well, the undeniable weirdness & unfamiliar—but also the togetherness we felt in this genre of music (one that is widely unchartered in the choreographic realm). We immediately dove into our own curiosities and started choreographing a ballet, honoring some of the sickest polyrhythms by some of the greatest musicians of our day.
This project brings to tangibility some serious nostalgia that we all share, but it also attempts to satiate that craving we continue to feed for the unquestionable connection of this music to the movement of the human body in space.
Now, we introduce Jack Kloecker, his awesomeness, and his September 2024 filming of this project in its infant stages. Jack’s talents, passion, and artistry are an extremely important thread and multidisciplinary addition to the tapestry of this project (not to mention, what it’s like to look through the lens of his camera and mad editing skills). Check out the trailer by Jack below. We will also drop more content and several reels on socials in the coming weeks.
Support the Project
Outside of ticket sales and the generous donations of a few angel starters, ALLUVIUS needs $9,750 to come to full life. We are looking for hungry, metal-loving rockstars to assist us in bringing the music & dance to life. This never-been-done-before dance amplifies the connection between dance & music in the Music Capital of the World— ATX.
Join the movement. Donate below, or shoot us your pledge at info@ventanaballet.com. We’ll be so happy to show you the budget, share with you the libretto-in-progress, invite you to rehearsal, answer your questions, and hear your ideas!

This donation sponsors the line item of the ALLUVIUS budget that covers the rental of our audience risers. It is a super important one, since it will enable the guests of ALLUVIUS to fully experience the show, so that they can see every shape and movement of the dancers on stage in front of them.

This donation sponsors the line item of the ALLUVIUS budget that covers the set design, execution, and installation. This helps bring together the visual aspects of the on-stage story for the audience to experience it fully!

SPONSORED!
This donation sponsors the line item of the ALLUVIUS budget that covers the costume design, purchase, and editing. This helps us purchase and edit beautiful costuming that is visually appealing and high-quality for the dancers to perform in.

This donation subsidizes our bar offerings at ALLUVIUS! We are so grateful to our local in-kind drink sponsors, like Tito’s and Still Austin. This donation enables us to offer mixers, wine, and ice! Cheers!

This donation goes towards many other things in the ALLUVIUS budget: artist paychecks, music rights, subsidized ticket pricing, advertising, insurance, dancer training fees, and more.

Thank you for your generosity to support Ventana Ballet and its mission to bring more performance opportunities to local artists and the ATX community.
